Profesional en arquitectura egresado de la universidad Nacional, desarrollo su amor por la pintura cuando cursaba sus estudios profesionales y la cátedra que más le apasionaba era la de dibujo de expresión y geometría descriptiva donde nació su dedicación por el arte.


Su admiración por la pintura afrocolombiana parte de un contexto cultural tradicional donde la gente ha creado objetos rituales y cotidianos, pinturas corporales, vestuarios y muchas otras producciones artísticas. Con intuición y reflexión descubrió nuevas técnicas para resolver los retos que plantea el espacio, el color, las formas, las proporciones y demás aspectos inherentes a la realización de sus obras.
